Being new to Vicksburg in 2011, we were in search of a church where we could belong, learn, and grow in our faith together as newlyweds. 

Becoming active in our Sunday School class helped us to make friends quickly and easily. 
We now have three children (6, 4, & 2) and have been faithful members of FBCV for 8 yrs. 
Finding a church family that encourages your children to grow in their love for Jesus daily is truly a blessing and a joy.

Patty and I were married in FBC Vicksburg and raised our family in this church. We both taught Sunday School and our church has been, and continues to be, the focal point in our lives. After we retired in 2000, we traveled a lot and enjoyed retirement, but we felt that we needed to be more involved in missions. We volunteered to work in the free medical/dental clinic that FBC sponsors. 
Then, when Hurricane Katrina victims evacuated from the Coast, our church opened it doors to 235 people. Our church was a shelter for them for 3 weeks. This experience changed our lives and the lives of many people in our church to become more involved in mission work. Patty and I moved to the Mississippi gulf coast to coordinate teams coming to help rebuild churches and homes. Our church became very involved in helping rebuild homes and sharing the love of Christ on the coast.
After returning home Patty and I, along with many of our members, continue to respond through Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief, and other mission trips around the world.
